Its 2.4GHz and Bluetooth modes can be switched with a button, while the companion app offers game audio presets and the retractable microphone keeps the setup adaptable between play and calls.
It makes the most sense for players who value broad platform compatibility and long stretches between charges.
The quick-switch function and on-ear controls add practical flexibility, though buyers focused on specific sound preferences should treat the presets as a customization option rather than proof of a particular listening result.

Who Should Buy Arctis Nova 5X?
Good fit
Buy the Arctis Nova 5X if you want one wireless headset to connect with a mix of Xbox, PC, PlayStation, Switch, Meta Quest, and mobile devices.
The compact USB-C dongle and switchable Bluetooth mode make it especially relevant for someone who moves between gaming and phone use.
It also suits players who want a long battery interval and prefer making headset adjustments without reaching for a separate controller. The 60-hour battery and on-ear mute, volume, and ChatMix controls are its clearest everyday conveniences.
Who should skip it
Skip it if your buying decision depends on proven microphone performance in noisy or windy environments; the retractable design and audio format alone cannot establish how calls will sound in those conditions.
It may also be a poor fit if you want a headset with active noise cancellation, since that feature is not part of the listed Nova 5X features.
Arctis Nova 5X Review Analysis
Multi-platform setup
The Nova 5X centers on switching among platforms through a compact USB-C dongle.
Its named compatibility spans Xbox, PC, PlayStation, Switch, Meta Quest, phones, and tablets, which is helpful for users whose gaming equipment changes by room or activity.
Confirm that your specific device supports the connection method you plan to use.
Moving between game and phone audio
The button-based quick switch moves between 2.4GHz gaming and Bluetooth 5.3, and the headset can take a call or play media over Bluetooth.
That offers a straightforward mode change, while the on-headset controls cover mute, volume, and game-to-audio balance.
Battery and charging routine
A 60-hour battery figure makes infrequent charging a central part of the Nova 5X's appeal.
USB-C fast charging is also useful when the headset needs a quick top-up, with the stated charge interval tied to a specific amount of use; buyers should plan around their own session length rather than treating either figure as a guarantee.
Presets and microphone practicality
The companion app's game audio presets give players a way to select title-focused settings, while the retractable microphone can be put away when it is not needed.
The chipset's stated audio format is a technical specification, not a measure of call clarity in every environment, so frequent callers should weigh their actual surroundings and communication needs.
